Day 1 – Arrival in Rome
Welcome to Rome! Upon arrival at the airport, meet your driver for your included transfer to the hotel. Use your Hop-On Hop-Off bus ticket to explore Rome’s landmarks at your own pace — valid for one day and offering commentary in 12 languages across eight stops. Spend the evening at leisure and return to your hotel for an overnight stay.

Day 2 – Ancient Rome Tour (B)
After breakfast, depart for a guided walking tour of Rome’s Archaeological Area. With your expert guide and personal audio headset, explore the legendary Colosseum, where gladiators once battled, then continue to Palatine Hill, the mythical birthplace of Rome, for panoramic city views. The tour concludes at the Roman Forum, once the heart of ancient Roman life. The rest of the day is free for independent exploration. Overnight in Rome. HOTEL ST. Day 3 – Rome → Assisi → Siena → Florence (B, L)
Enjoy breakfast at your hotel, then depart by deluxe coach at 7:15 AM. Travel to Assisi, a medieval town surrounded by ancient walls. Visit the Basilica of St. Francis, adorned with frescoes by Giotto and Cimabue, followed by lunch in Assisi. Continue to Siena, a UNESCO World Heritage Site known for its shell-shaped Piazza del Campo and the Palio horse race. Day 4 – Florence, Cradle of the Renaissance (B, L)
Discover Florence, the birthplace of the Renaissance. Visit the Duomo, Brunelleschi’s Dome, Giotto’s Bell Tower, and the Baptistery, followed by Piazza della Signoria, Palazzo Vecchio, and Santa Croce Basilica. Enjoy lunch at a traditional Tuscan restaurant. In the afternoon, enjoy free time or join an optional excursion to Pisa to see the Leaning Tower and Piazza dei Miracoli. Overnight in Florence.
Day 5 – Florence → Bologna → Venice (B, Local Food Experience)
After breakfast, drive to Bologna, famous for its porticoes and rich culinary traditions. Explore Piazza del Nettuno and the Basilica of San Petronio, then enjoy a light local food experience, sampling authentic street specialties. Continue to Venice and check in at your hotel. Day 6 – Venice City Tour & Cicchetti Experience (B, Local Food Experience)
Transfer to Piazza San Marco for a guided walking tour of Venice. See St. Mark’s Square, the Doge’s Palace (outside view), and cross the Bridge of Sighs. Later, enjoy a classic Venetian spritz or prosecco with cicchetti — small traditional snacks — and soak in the local atmosphere. The afternoon is free to explore canals, artisan shops, and hidden corners at your leisure. Overnight in Venice.
Day 7 – Venice → Verona → Franciacorta (Light Lunch & Wine Tasting) → Bergamo (B, L)
After breakfast, travel to Verona, celebrated for its Roman ruins, medieval charm, and as the setting of Romeo and Juliet. Visit Juliet’s House and explore the old town before continuing to Franciacorta, a region famous for sparkling wines. Day 8 – Lake Garda Excursion: Sirmione & Desenzano del Garda (B, D)
After breakfast, depart for Lake Garda, Italy’s largest lake. Enjoy a panoramic drive along its scenic western shore. In Sirmione, take a boat tour to admire the castle and the Grottoes of Catullus. After free time for lunch, visit Desenzano del Garda, known for its elegant lakeside promenade and Venetian-influenced old town. Return to Bergamo for dinner. Overnight in Bergamo.
Day 9 – Bergamo → Como → Bellagio → Milan (B)
Following breakfast, head to Como, famed for its alpine views and serene lakeshore. Board a boat to Bellagio, an elegant village nestled between the two southern branches of Lake Como, known for its narrow lanes, villas, and lush gardens. Day 10 – Bernina Express Experience (B)
After breakfast, depart with your driver for St. Moritz, where you’ll have some free time before boarding the spectacular Bernina Express. Journey across the Swiss Alps on one of the world’s most scenic rail routes, crossing the Bernina Pass toward Tirano, passing snow-capped peaks, tunnels, and mountain villages. Your driver will meet you in Tirano for the return transfer to Milan. Overnight in Milan.
Day 11 – Milan Walking Tour & Aperitivo (B, Local Food Experience)
After breakfast, enjoy a leisurely morning before meeting your local guide for a three-hour walking tour of Milan. Explore Porta Venezia, Corso Venezia, and the Giardini Indro Montanelli, then admire the Galleria d’Arte Moderna, Teatro alla Scala, and the magnificent Duomo Cathedral (outside). Conclude at the Castello Sforzesco, followed by a traditional Milanese aperitivo. Overnight in Milan.
Day 12 – Departure from Milan (B)
After breakfast, transfer to the airport for your onward flight.
