ITINERARY & PRICES

Day 1 (WED) Arrive Amman
Meet at Queen Alia International Airport and assistance with Jordanian immigration and customs formalities or join this tour in Amman. Drive to Jerash, the best-preserved city of Roman times, to visit its theaters, temples, churches and colonnaded streets. Then continue to Ajloun to tour the 12th century Saracen Castle built by one of Saladin’s lieutenants in the campaign against the Crusaders. Overnight in Amman at Toledo Hotel or similar (4 Star) or Land Mark Hotel os similar (5 Star).

Day 2 (THU) Amman - Petra (B)
Drive southwards along the Kings’ Way to Petra, visiting Madaba with the oldest map of the Holy Land, and its Mosaic School, Mt. Nebo and the alleged burial site of Moses overlooking the Dead Sea and the Jordan Valley; then drive through the magnificent scenery of Wadi Mujib to Kerak to visit the Crusader Castle (stop for optional lunch). Overnight in Petra at Petra Palace hotel or similar (4 Star) or Hyatt Zaman Hotel or similar (5 Star).

Day 3 (FRI) Petra (B)
A full day to visit the many sites of Petra, this city that was carved into the rose-red Sharah Mountains by the Nabateans and lost to Civilization until re-discovered by the Swiss Burkhardt. Walk through the Siq, a narrow and winding fissure between the cliffs, to reach the Treasury, the Roman Theater, the Courts, Qasr Bint Pharaoun, Temple of the Winged Lion and other monuments. A break for optional lunch, or you may wish to climb up to the Monastery. Overnight in Petra.

Day 4 (SAT) Petra - Wadi Rum - Amman/ Depart Amman (B)
Visit the Wadi Rum Desert (a short ride in 4x4 vehicle) with its awesome moon-like landscape, where the film “Lawrence of Arabia” was shot. Continue to Amman airport for your flight to onward destination. Or travel to the Araba Crossing and assistance with departure formalities, or to Aqaba for a day or two at the Beach (please request for “Optional Services”).

Walking through the narrow Siq and seeing the Treasury appear at the end is one of travel's great moments. Good to know

Petra involves a lot of walking, often several miles on uneven ground, so bring comfortable shoes, a hat and water. The climb to the Monastery is steep and optional.
